HDI Membership logo usage:
1. Principal Logo
The HDI Member logo is as Fig 1 and should appear in the context of the following guidelines. The
logo is the recognised mark for HDI members to use and therefore a most valuable asset. Consistent use
of the logo is vital to the successful perception of HDI.
The standard size of the logo is 45mm wide. Where appropriate, the logo should be used in this size.
The logo must not be altered or any of the elements abstracted for use elsewhere.

 |
Note: all elements of the logo have been spaced and scaled. No variation is permitted.
2. Minimum Logo Size
In order to maintain the legibility of the type, a minimum logo size should be adhered to. This is
15mm wide as shown in Fig 2. Under no circumstances must the logo be used any smaller than 15mm wide.
Fig 2
| |< 15mm >| |
 |
Note: The logotypes shown on this instruction booklet must not be used for reproduction purposes.
HDI will provide .eps logos for this purpose.
3. Principal Logo Colour
The logo is made up of three colours as shown in Fig 3.
Fig 3
 |
Red - pantone 186
Blue - pantone 267 |
Where possible, the logo should be printed using the 3 colour version, using these pantone colours.
In no circumstances should the pantone colours be changed.
4. Reversed Logo
The logo should ideally appear in colour form at all times, though should this prove impossible, for
example when the logo is to be printed on a blue or red coloured background similar to that used in the
logo, then a reversed version of the logo should be used. This would be black on transparent for a light
background or white on transparent for a dark background.
The same specifications apply as for the full colour version (e.g. exclusion zone and size
restrictions).
5. Exclusion Zone
The HDI logo must be used in an exclusion zone. This means that a space equal to the length of the word ‘Service’ within the logo should appear all round the logo. This is to prevent any text or graphic devices encroaching on the logo. If the exclusion zone causes any problems in any instance, the Marketing Department should be contacted.
6. Backgrounds
Ideally the logo should appear on a white or plain coloured background. On occasions where an image
is placed in the background, an effort should be made to position the logo over an area of minimum texture
to ensure legibility. If problems with legibility occur then the logo should be positioned in a white or
plain coloured box which allows the logo and its colours to be seen clearly.
